GETTING BETTER

After struggling with form for much of last season, Antonio Valencia has been showing signs of recovery this season for Manchester United.

He has already made 13 appearances and has scored two goals. He has also made two goals for his teammates. Valencia was a £ 16 million signing from Wigan a few years ago.

He had his most disappointing year at Manchester United last season, but his sufficient recovery this campaign shows that he is a player of quality according to William Morgan. Morgan played for Manchester United as a winger during his playing days and told Man Utd football news that he had high hopes for Valencia.

He has said that his compatriot will only improve from here on after managing to establish himself as a first-team regular at United. Morgan has also revealed that if he was the manager of United start Valencia in every single match because he is such an important player. Valencia is not only good when it comes to attacking, but he is also very prudent in defence as well. Sir Alex Ferguson used to start him at right back for a number of matches when defensive solidarity combined with attacking prowess was essential.

“I would play Valencia every game. He gives you 100 percent, you know what you’re going to get from him. He will do the same job for you week in, week out. He’s not a flair player but the job he does is superb. He gives you width, he helps out in defence, he goes forward and he tries to go to the byline and get crosses in,” said the former United winger to the club’s official website.

Morgan has said that Valencia is one of the few players who tries to give more than 100% in every match he plays. The 28-year-old Valencia still has two more years left on his contract with United.
