VALENCIA: SOLKSJÆR WILL WIN TROPHIES AT UNITED

The pressure has continued to mount on Manchester United manager Olé Gunnar Solksjær as he continues to wait for his first trophy as the manager of the club. The Red Devils manager reached three major cup semi-finals last season but was not able to find a way to get his team across to any of the finals of those competitions and failed to lift any trophy in the process.

This season, he managed to guide his side to the Europa League final but was not able to better the Villarreal team managers by former Arsenal manager Unai Emery whose side won the title on penalties after normal and extra time. Despite splashing the cash on a couple of signings in the past and still no single trophy to show for it, Solksjær is expected to be given some transfer funds so he can sign some more players that he feels are pivotal to lead the club to title triumphs.

The Norwegian manager is currently targeting several players in key areas of the squad including the attack, midfield, and defensive departments. His priority target in the attack remains Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho and he has identified Villarreal defender Pau Torres as the man he wishes to sign to improve his central defensive ranks. Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul has been earmarked as his preferred option in midfield but there has not been anything concrete yet.

Former Manchester United star Antonio Valencia has revealed that he believes that even though some fans may have started to lose patience with the manager, he will start winning trophies soon. Valencia said that Solksjær has the qualities of a top manager and once he lays his hands on all his targets, he will start delivering titles as well in the coming seasons.
