VALENCIA: UNITED NEED TO FIND A TEAM BALANCE

There have been a lot of talks about Manchester United and their ability to play together as a team in recent times. Equally, there have been rumors of a major squad unrest at the club following a couple of bad performances and results under manager Ralf Ragnick. I’m recent weeks, United have blown several chances of cementing their position in the top four in th4 English Premier League table as they continued to settle for draws even after finding the back of the net before their opponents. It became a tradition for United to score first in the first half and then concede an equalizer after the break to make the match end in a 1-1 draw.

The same scenario happened against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup where they were eventually knocked out on penalties. There was also a reoitirion against Southampton in the Premier League. However, the case was different in their last game against Brighton and Hove Albion. While the score was 0-0 at half-time, they returned for the second half and opened the scoring through a Cristiano Ronaldo strike properly taken from outside the box; the Portuguese superstar’s first goal in six games as he ended his longest goal drought since 2010.

Ronaldo’s goal was followed up by a superb finish from his fellow Portugal international teammate Bruno Fernandes after the midfielder was teed up by a quick pass from Paul Pogba. It was the first time in a while that United scored more than one goal in a match and it proved to be really needed as it helped them to secure all the three points they craved.

Former Manchester United defender Antonio Valencia has revealed that the sooner the team starts playing together, the better for them as they wish to secure a top four finish.
