Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has hailed the mentality of the team after they secured a comfortable 2-0 triumph over Burnley on the road. The Red Devils had come into the game on the back of successive defeats to Brighton & Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur but they managed to somewhat make amends with a confident performance at Turf Moor.
Lukaku had come for criticism from the club’s faithful after missing clear-cut chances in each of the first three Premier League games but he made sure to avoid a repeat after bagging his first two goals of the new season. United could have quite easily added more goals to the game but Paul Pogba was denied the third goal from the penalty spot after a good save from Joe Hart.
With the victory, United have jumped up to 10th on the table with six points but they still have plenty to do, if they are to come anywhere close to the league leaders. Both Liverpool and Chelsea are already six points ahead of Mourinho’s men after the perfect start to the season and alongside them, Watford have surprised many after securing four straight league wins. The Hornets most recently beat Tottenham Hotspur by a 2-1 scoreline at Vicarage Road to continue their winning start to the season.
